About the company
A UK-registered bridge between Chinese families and UK opportunity.
Global Horizons Consulting is an education and career-services company registered in the United Kingdom. We connect Chinese students and families with UK schooling, guardianship, internships and graduate careers, and we develop the partnerships with UK employers and education providers that make this possible.
What we do
Our work spans three connected areas. We provide education services — guiding families through UK school choice, applications and compliant guardianship. We provide career and placement services — helping students into internships and graduate roles through our UK employer network. And we run an active partnership and business-development function, building and maintaining the relationships with UK employers, schools and education providers that underpin everything else.
Together these form a single purpose: developing a genuine, well-run corridor between Chinese students and families and the UK education and employment market — one that UK institutions can rely on and families can trust.

Our approach
Substance over salesmanship
We aim to be accurate and useful rather than promotional. We would rather under-claim and deliver than overstate.
Built on relationships
We invest in long-term partnerships with UK employers, schools and providers, because durable outcomes depend on them.
Compliance as a foundation
Safeguarding and UK immigration rules shape how we design our services, especially where young people are involved.
Founder

Harrison Wu
Founder & Director
Global Horizons Consulting was founded by Harrison Wu, a bilingual education and marketing professional with around two decades of experience split between China and the United Kingdom. After nearly ten years in marketing and management roles in China, he moved to the UK, where he has spent a further decade in higher education and business. Now settled in the UK, he works fluently across both markets.
His work centres on international student recruitment and partner-network management across China and South-East Asia, UK higher-education admissions, and UKVI compliance. He has led recruitment and marketing for UK universities and built and managed agent and institutional partnerships across the region — the same relationships and standards Global Horizons Consulting is built on.
He holds an MSc in Marketing Management from Birkbeck, University of London, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM). He also maintains a Chinese-language social-media presence of more than 120,000 followers across Xiaohongshu, Douyin and WeChat Channels, reaching prospective students and their families directly — the audience served by GHC's consumer platform, AlongWay.
Consultants & partners
GHC works with a network of specialist consultants and partners to deliver its services.

Ruth McDowell
Careers Coaching Consultant
In partnership with GCDC ↗Ruth McDowell supports GHC's students with careers coaching, working in partnership with GCDC. She brings over two decades of senior leadership and professional coaching experience. Based in Edinburgh, she held UK-wide leadership and governance roles for many years — including senior director-level positions at the Royal College of General Practitioners, where she led teams of up to 120 staff across the UK and Ireland.
A qualified coach — with a Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching, a Certificate in Coaching, and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — she has also mentored senior leaders through the Carers Trust UK programme. She draws on this experience to help students and graduates prepare for interviews, build confidence, and navigate the UK job market.

Kayla Situ
Head of Education & Guardianship
Kayla Situ heads GHC's education and guardianship work for younger students. She has spent much of the past decade as an education consultant in the UK, developing tailored study-abroad plans for families and coordinating the practical side of a UK education — school applications, visas, accommodation and settling in.
She has represented the summer programmes of leading UK institutions — including Eton College, Headington School, Canford School and Wadham College, Oxford — and has managed student recruitment across UK universities and specialist programmes. She acts as a careful liaison between families and schools, guiding them through every step of the application and enrolment process.

Sebastian Xu
UK Undergraduate & Postgraduate Consultant
Sebastian Xu is a UK undergraduate and postgraduate applications consultant with GHC. He completed his own studies in the UK — a BA in Digital Media and Communication at the University of Westminster, followed by an MSc Management at UCL's School of Management — giving him a combined media and management background.
Before joining GHC he spent three years as a Senior Education Consultant at UVIC, supporting more than 300 international students through UK undergraduate (UCAS) and postgraduate applications, with offers from G5 and Russell Group universities. He focuses on UK undergraduate and master's application planning, university and course selection, personal statements and CVs, and interview preparation — with particular experience in cross-discipline and lower-grade applications.
